Website Reviews

Here I have wrote a short review on three user led websites:

http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/o.uk/
This is a website designed to be led by students from all universities in the UK they can discuss issues or ideas regarding all aspects of university life. It is really well laid out and easy to use, the navigation bar across the top makes it easy to navigate around the site. It has a very clear and clean look about it because of the colours used and none of it seems too cluttered making it an attractive site. The content is relevant to the site and of course to its users, adverts and links used are for the benefit of students for example there is a link to the TV licensing website and latest fast food offers.

http://www.therugbyforum.com/
This website is where people can post their own articles about rugby and share any club gossip they may have heard. It has a nice clean look about it because of the light blue background used for the main area. It is easy to use, the links on the right make it easy to see a lot of the latest articles added and the navigation bar across the top makes it easy to navigate around the site. I also like the fact that the designer realises that a lot of text will be used in the site so has added an application on the top right so that the user can make the text larger for themselves.

http://www.scrapbookeronline.com/
This is a scrapbooking community website designed for scrap bookers to share their ideas and designs with each other. It is also linked to a shop where scrappies can purchase new materials. I like how the design is not too feminine so it doesn’t exclude any male scrap bookers. It has a nice clean look by the light colours used. It is very easy to use, the navigation bar is on the left hand side and there are three quick links at the top of the home page. Everything is relevant within the site however I think there is a lot of wasted especially on the home page the space in the website could have been used a lot better. Also I would have expected a lot more images and colour used on the site especially as scrap booking is a craft based on visually appealing pages.
